in game housing
i hope they add houses available for purchasing and upgrade beside cars and so on. since we end up moving and expanding to different neighborhoods it would only make sense our characters had their own houses to go to after work.
anyone else would like that?
anyone else would like that?

Re: in game housing
individual housing may be a bit much... people would stay in their houses instead of hanging out in the streets like they are supposed to...
having a head quarters for your gang or group would be a little more relevant to the game world

i dont think that having your own house would prevent you from going out of the streets. how else would you progress if you spend the whole time in your house then?
it just gives you something else to do .

Re: in game housing
well having your own "private" space would make you more likely to go there when you have any down time. Making a new theme, a new design, grabbing a car... all of that stuff you would go to your hiding spot to do it.
It would take away from the feel of a busy living city if half the population was in doors at any given time

Player owned housing would be instanced so what your saying is wrong
There could be a few Apartment building's around the map some small run down place's that are real cheap and some huge building's with huge room's
You go inside the apartment and interact with the Elevator there will be an "Enter safe house" option which would take you to your own instanced room
If player owned houses would be to much to add i think that Guild or Clan housing would be the best option
They could be expensive and maybe a weekly ingame cost to keep the apartment the whole clan chip's in to keep the safe house up and running like i said before there could be cheap small rooms and big expensive rooms for the best clan's this would had to the "Celebrity" this game trys to aim for as the best clan's would have the best room's
There could be benefit's to having clan housing like another place to spawn your car's a garage to hide stolen car's just examples

Re: in game housing
There is no ingame housing at release. However its a very likely candidate for a future expansions/patches, according to the devs in one of the podcasts anyway.

ya this is a little necro but i have to do it.
how is what i said wrong?
if your house is instanced, it means that while you are there no one else is, and it effectively takes you off of the streets. If you are not there to populate the streets, who is?
If half the city's population decided to go into their homes where no one could see or interact with them, how does that not decline the feeling of a living active city?

Yea I have to say I am against player housing in this particular game. I think having social areas is a much better idea than housing.
My better smells like french toast.

i don't see what would be the problem of your gang having a hideout, that rival gangs/enforcers could attack as long as a siege type system did not get out of character to the game theme and genre. Would probably have to be by appointment so to speak , but it would at least give rival gangs some large activity they could all do together. Individual player houses, just for cosmetic and social reasons i would be against , go play the sims lol

Re: in game housing
There will probably be in game housing later on. This is from an interview.
Is there going to be guild housing at some point?
Not at launch. But its definitely something we're looking into because its been a very popular discussion point.
