APB to release in "fiscal" year 2011.
bigdownload.com wrote:We were expecting this to happen but now its official. All Points Bulletin (APB) the urban themed shooter MMO from developer Real Time Worlds, will not make its previously announced first quarter 2010 release date. As part of their financial press announcement, the game's publisher Electronic Arts has now confirmed that they are now targeting a release sometime in the third quarter of 2010 (July-September) (or EA's fiscal 2011 second quarter).
Real Time Worlds has apparently already begun closed beta testing for APB last fall. The developer has been pretty silent on the game's status for some time but if EA sticks with this current time line for APB's release we should be getting more news on the game's progress soon. [Source]

Wow, they really pushed that back. I was expecting a delay, but that's quite a bit more than I expected.

I actually think this is a good thing, it will give the game more time to be in the beta.

Re: All Points Bulletin officially delayed to third quarter 2010
Even though I am disappointed in the sense that I will have to wait longer to play, I believe Electronic Arts and Realtime Worlds are making the absolute right decision by delaying their game. It's obvious that the developers wish to release a quality product, so this delay should ensure some significant polish time for the developers. I'm personally fed up with games releasing early, and the MMOG genre as a whole is generally notorious for doing this. It's refreshing to see a studio that wants, and has the available resources, to have a strong launch product.
I'm both pleased and slightly saddened by the news, but overall this is good news in my eyes. Hopefully this will be supplemented with additional information from Realtime Worlds. Heck, maybe we can get some new footage from them!

Re: All Points Bulletin officially delayed to third quarter 2010
It makes sense for them to release around the summer period, I mean, I was a little confused by the original spring release period, it's rare that big titles are released around then, especially MMO titles which look for the holiday slots, but it looks like EA is pushing for maximum sale intake for the summer period. But that's better than Christmas, I suppose. Not that it's a bad thing, as Element said, it gives plenty of time for Beta and maybe even a little more time to add a funky new feature or two. I guess I'm going to have to put my Enforcer clan on the backburner for a few more months, too.

That's really too bad. I hope they really *perfect* or come close to perfect with this game since they have all of this extra time.

Well, on the bright side of things, here's to a hopefully flawless launch and completely polished gaming experience in the summer. Also maybe a 3 month long open beta will be announced.
( On the downer side though, i just bought some new parts, hoping that I'd make it into the closed beta pretty soon. )

Yeah, I would expect a nice open beta to play for awhile.

saw it coming.
hopefully do release new footage or at least up to date stuff. Hopefully they start keeping in touch with the various communities again. Their philosophy is "players as content" so it would be in their best interest to keep the communities happy. This also probably means that beta isn't going to well.

I don't know about ya'll, but this news really sucks. Time to just forget about this game and hopefully remember about it right before release. Bye everyone!
Shoot first, ask questions later.

Well, seeing as TOR is coming out spring next year, you'll be waiting even longer.
