I've only just made a planet in photoshop...
I was trying to learn how to make a cool clan logo, but I got distracted by shiny letters of PLANET.

its 7am, so I might have missed it. But what kind of programs do you use for your stuff?

well unfortunately for you if you were planning on doing the same i use 3ds max, (that's it's actual name now, they dropped the 3d studio max because it took too long to say) but again, if your still in school try to find a teacher to get it for you. that gives you 6 months mudbox 6 months maya 6 months max and i'm pretty sure unlimited xsi/softimage, which rocks your socks but unfortunately i learned max first.

new photo that i coulda sworn i posted yesterday...

Oh no worries, getting software is not the issue for me.
Anyway nice work, I didn't get to learn any new stuff from the internets today, waaaay to busy. Considering that the simple planet tutorial took me 3 hours...

Though the way the P crumbles it makes it look a bit like an F

I'm quite fond of that tutorial. Greg Martin does gorgeous work.

Yes its really good, cant wait to give my own spin to how to do it and make more unique planets. Too bad the website for me had black text on a black background and I had to select all the text first for me to be able to read it lol.
I keep failing with making a nice universe though.
Also, not on purposely trying to hijack the thread >.> <.<

yes, stars tend to be incredibly hard to do close up, the best way i've found is to place a smallish sphere in the middle along with a wind force that has lots of chaos, then spawn lots and lots of particles inside the volume of the sphere that are white with some opacity, and add a very very powerful output material with lots of falloff to the sphere. the result is solar flares and all that good stuff. you can also make semi-seethrough secondary spheres to spawn particles farther out with slightly different colors, giving it an even better look.

ouch.... organic forms are DEFINITELY not my forte.... my main job at the firm is man-made stuff, usually metal. that add i built the laptops (well most of them) the conveyors, and most of the machines. the rotoscoping to put the people in, animation, and texture was all other people's problems.

Fuck yeah machines, my name isn't Wicked Engineer for nothing. (well actually it is, the only thing I have with machines is that I am obsessed with them..)

I should really make my own sig though, because it'll be good for me to learn.

That is some very impressive work!
I really like the last two APB images you posted.

P.S. Mister llamalord, would you happen to recall a .gif of a green llama running after someone and the text "run for teh hillz"? I've been looking for that picture for years now... lol
