Developmag interviews David Jones

As stated in our previous news post, a interview would follow up the recent announcement of Realtime Worlds receiving $50 million in funding. Thanks to a heads up from one of our forum members (Jmann234), we now have the first part of the interview.

Key Outlines :
  • Realtime Worlds with their partners such as WPP, could provide advertisements, and they will be working with other partners such as AT&T, Intel on the infrastructure side of things.
  • Using "Players as content" is a big focus for APB, and is a key point for how the game will stand out among other linear RPG's.
  • The amount of content given to the player, will allow the players the freedom to do new things in the game with a set number of "building blocks"
  • Giving the users a great amount of customizations, yet having to make the UI still simple and allowing users that may not be great artistically, to still make decent work; was a great challenge for the development team.
  • The launch is only the beginning and they will continue to get feedback after launch to figure out what else the community wants.
It seems David, and the team really have a unique idea with the concept of All Points Bulletin. Stay tuned, as noted on the Developmag article, part #2 of the interview which focuses more on customization elements and how Realtime Worlds is preparing for APB will be posted tomorrow.
